Other Projects - Highlights

Bond Street Theatre dedicates each of its works, tours, and projects to enhancing quality of life through the powerful voice of theatre.

Brazil, 1992 and 1996: The ensemble toured Bond Street's original plays WERK and Nightmare on Wall Street throughout the country, performing in small towns as well as major Festivals. Company members also taught and worked with with street children. ​

Pakistan, 2002: In refugee camps in Peshawar, 10,000 Afghan boys and girls were reached with live performances new confidence-building skills and games. The company trained teachers from PLAN International to use theatre-based educational activities for children, bringing this program to rural villages in Chakwal.

East Berlin, 1990: Bond Street Theatre presented the first legally sanctioned political street theatre performance in nearly fifty years just months after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The performance, Nightmare on Wall Street, dealt with the dark side of capitalism.

Colombia, 1990: The company performed at the Internacional Festival al Aire Puro in Bogotá, the country's capital, with activist theatre groups from all over the country.

Israel, 1984: As resident company at the Israel Festival, we brought 60 teens together to create an expansive street theatre spectacle and Israel’s first inter-ethnic street theatre company in Jerusalem made up of 60 Jews, Arabs, Kurds, and other minorities.

Canada, 1987: Montreal’s International Youth for Peace and Justice Program invited Bond Street to address 60 teenagers from 45 war-torn nations on the power of theatre and teach practical theatre techniques.

Ireland, 1990: In Belfast,the site of violent religious conflict, we worked with Catholic and Protestant children side by side, joining forces with Circus Belfast.

China, 1995: Two members of the company attended the 4th UN Conference on Women and presented performances and discussion groups on the use of theatre for development.
