Where does Actorbatics come from?
Everywhere. Actorbats share many of the techniques and skills used by actors and dancers throughout the world and throughout history. Sources for the Actorbat include the Peking Opera from China, commedia dell’arte from Europe, and the masquerades of Western Africa.

Students are introduced to this fascinating work with careful attention to three areas of expertise:

• 1) Learning personalized, individual skills relating to balance, precision, and creating characters;
• 2) Creating a group dynamic through cooperation and partner work;
• 3) Learning a style of performance to present to an audience.

Each workshop is tailored to the needs and curriculum of the school, choosing from a variety of exercises and skills.
