Travels with Tricksters

Travels with Tricksters

SYNOPSIS
Two skilled actors take audiences on a trip to meet Tricksters from around the World:

First we meet the Moco Jumbie stilt-dancers of the Caribbean, whose connections to the Spirit world allow them to dance on stilts with amazing skill.

In Italy, we stop in Pantalone’s Pasta Palace and see what’s cooking with Arlecchino, Pantalone’s comical servant.

Heading east, we encounter the legendary Monkey King from *China*’s Flower and Fruit Mountain. He is on a journey to find the sacred scrolls, but must get past an ugly demon named Pigsy.

Finally we arrive back in the US to hear an Iroquois tale about a Flying Head and the clever young woman who saves the village!

All sorts of visual treats from many cultures flavor the show, including stilts, masks, magic, acrobatics and staff-twirling. There is a geography lesson too, as the performers take us from place to place by illustrating “you are here” on a large and colorful map backdrop.

Plus, the show includes audience participation. A wonderful trip for all… and no visas required!

Very impressive, a must return! They are still talking about the show and giving ‘word for word’ details.” —Long Lake, Central NY
